ROYALE PARIS CHRONO: The First Manufacture Chronograph

The Pequignet Manufacture opens a new chapter in its history with the Royale Paris Chrono, its very first manufacture chronograph. The result of several years of development and exceptional watchmaking expertise, this new creation embodies the Maison's ambition: to craft timepieces that combine mechanical innovation, timeless elegance, and French excellence.

With this first chronograph, Pequignet reaffirms its ability to develop highly sophisticated in-house movements while preserving a distinctly French identity. The Royale Paris Chrono is designed for both connoisseurs of fine watchmaking and lovers of refined design, offering a contemporary interpretation of one of horology's most iconic complications.

It had been a long time since I had seen such a beautifully executed chronograph—one that brings together an exceptional movement, superb dial finishing, and a perfectly proportioned, impeccably crafted case, showcasing the finest watchmaking expertise of Pequignet.

Aesthetics, Robustness and Precision

True to the design codes of its lineage, the Royale Paris Chrono retains the distinctive aesthetic features that define the collection. Its case with attached lugs creates an architectural silhouette and lends the watch a timeless elegance on the wrist. The more sculpted profile is distinguished by a concave, gouge-shaped recess that is echoed around the entire perimeter of the dial.

The chronograph is built around a cam-actuated mechanism, delivering crisp, reliable operation. It is also less sensitive to shocks than a traditional column-wheel chronograph, ensuring outstanding robustness in everyday use. The Royale Paris Chrono is available in two configurations: an opaline dial with either blue or red counters.

The dial features a small seconds display at 3 o'clock and a 30-minute chronograph counter at 9 o'clock. The movement incorporates an offset stem system, allowing perfect alignment of the crown and chronograph pushers.

The Calibre Initial® Chronograph: A New Achievement

To power this new chronograph, the Manufacture developed a movement based on its Calibre Initial®, enhanced with new decorative finishes. This fifth Manufacture movement embodies the perfect synergy between two exceptional areas of expertise.

To bring this iconic complication to life, the Manufacture partnered with a prestigious Swiss watchmaking house, internationally renowned for its mastery of high-end horological complications. Built on geographical proximity and complementary technical expertise, this close collaboration gave rise to the new Calibre Initial® Chronograph.

As with the Manufacture's other four in-house movements, every component is sourced within an 80-kilometre radius of the Manufacture in Morteau, reflecting Pequignet's enduring commitment to local craftsmanship and regional excellence.
