With the Royale Paris Chrono BPM, Pequignet Manufacture brings together two legacies on a single dial: the measurement of performance through the chronograph, and the French Touch that emerged in Parisian clubs in the late 1990s. The tachymetric scale of the Royale Paris Chrono gives way to a BPM (Beats Per Minute) graduation, transforming a sporting measuring instrument into a musical compass.
The dial draws on colour codes familiar to an entire generation: an electric blue gradient, from azure evenings to the pitch-black nights of minimalist clubs for the night owls. The sound bars, symbolically displayed between midnight and 2 a.m., are a nod to the importance of maintaining a perfectly balanced, unsaturated sound, something every true music lover will respect before launching the next track.
Like a pulsometer, with the pusher activated and 30 bass-drum beats counted, the scale indicates where you are: between 110 and 130 BPM, welcome to the world of French Touch. At 60 BPM, the day has been intense: it is time for reggae. From 70 to 95 BPM, you are on Planet Rap or perhaps somewhere in a “Je t’aime… moi non plus” kind of universe. Above 140 BPM, eyes closed and arms in the air, trance takes over.
Like the rest of the Royale Paris collection, this version is equipped with interchangeable straps.
Calibre Initial® Chronograph: a new development
To power this new chronograph, Pequignet has developed a movement based on the Calibre Initial®, enhanced with new finishing touches. This fifth movement has been designed to create a chronograph watch whose thickness remains well controlled. Like the Maison’s other four movements, all components are sourced within a radius of less than 80 km around the Manufacture.
